2023 10 Country Chapter in Review

Well as I sit here and write this it makes me wonder just how we arrived at the end of 2023 so fast and what we did to pass the time!!  Here in 10 country 2023 really was a year that we got back into the game full time, we hadn’t had a fundraising event in 3 cycles of the calendar, we missed 2020 due to mandates out of our control with Covid, in 2021 things were still not back in play and in 2022 our special guest had to cancel due to some extreme circumstances within his family, which takes us to 2023. We started off the new year by making a $50K contribution to the Wildlife Fund to help with the US 26 wildlife crossing project, then inside a whirlwind we arrived at March of 2023 hosting our most successful fundraising event to date with our special guest Jim Shockey, from there it was onto making sure we took those funds and applied them to worthy project. Some of those projects included a cheat grass treatment to be done in the sinks canyon area in 2024, a scholarship initiative that will be granted in spring of 2024, Outdoor display cases for Schools in Fremont County for youth to showcase there outdoor experiences to their friends and peers, 3 youth Hunting outings for children with life threating illnesses through our Putting the U in Hunt program, We are putting together a CWD project in Fremont County, We will continue to work with the wildlife fund on getting across the finish line with the US 26 project at Dubois and many more projects in the works. We were able to find some time to host a chapter BBQ in August to show our appreciation to all those hard-working members of our committee.

As we head into 2024 we will be hosting a mule deer Summit on January 11th right here in Riverton, with this meeting the goal is to take comments from the community and put them in a form that we can deliver to the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission, we are hoping we can help to be the voice of our local mule deer enthusiast and be able to deliver our message in a constructive way that will possibly move the needle as far as mule deer are concerned here at home. 2024 is already shaping up to be another huge year for the 10-country chapter, we have a fundraising banquet scheduled for March 16th 2024 with special guest Cody Robbins from the hit show Live to Hunt with Cody and Kelsey, we are working on developing our own projects that focus more on Fremont County and the surrounding area, we realize there is lots of work to be done right here at home. We are also planning on hosting 3 more youth hunts.

The Chapter has grown significantly over the past year and we hope to be able to keep that trend going, we would like to thank everyone that has supported us along the way and we want to ensure you that we are doing good things with your money and we will continue to do so.

In closing we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and again thank you for your kind support along this journey.

Sincerely,

10 County Chapter
